According to the CDC, cancer is the third-leading cause of child and teen fatalities in America, but gun violence is first. We partnered with Change the Ref to bring these two causes together in the award-winning short film “American Cancer Story.”
Directed by José Padilha (Narcos) and scored by James Valentine (Maroon 5), the film ran as a PSA on TV and directed viewers to donate to fund pediatric cancer research and demand urgent change from lawmakers on gun violence.
The film made an immediate impact—with CNN calling it a "game changer” and dozens of A-list celebrities reposting it on social.
